Always opt to adopt from your local shelter/rescue! They all have so many wonderful animals waiting for their forever home!
IN DEDICATION TO OUR OLD FRIENDThis is Lucky! He was adopted from the Humane Society of Genesee County (which is a place so near & dear to our hearts!) in 2001. He changed my whole way of thinking & living. He introduced us to the wonderful friends at the Humane Society & really made us want to help animals in need.
We are heartbroken to say that we lost Lucky in the spring of 2014 at the age of 15. We miss him every day, but we work hard to rescue in his name and to grow the legacy he left behind. There are so many wonderful animals all across the nation that need homes, and we encourage you to find one and make it their lucky day! If adoption is not an option for you but you would still like to help, please find time to volunteer at your local shelter or rescue. Donate, Donate, Donate! Spread the word about the importance of adopting, as well as spaying and neutering. You can also offer to foster an animal from a local shelter. There are so many ways to help out and so many animals in need! |
WHO WE ARE, AND WHAT WE DOSaving animals that are injured, orphaned, and have severe medical issues is our passion. Lucky Day provides a safe haven with abundant love, medical care, & rehabilitation until their forever homes are found! We are a no kill rescue meaning there is no time limit for our animals. If a home is never found for a animal they are more then welcome to life out the rest of their lives in our care. Lucky Day Animal Rescue is an organization of passionate individuals dedicated to the rescue & rehabilitation of the animals that are unwanted, abandoned, suffering or have medical issues.
We feel every animal deserves a loving family, a warm bed & a second chance at life, regardless of breed, age or injury. We want to work very closely with other area rescues/shelters to help reduce the number of animals that are euthanized. Many animals are euthanized because they are injured, have temperament problems, or because a shelter environment just will not work for them These are the animals that we want to take in. The ones that have nowhere else to go! We STRONGLY believe in the importance of spaying & neutering to help reduce pet overpopulation & will try to educate on the importance of this whenever possible! We utilize a small network of loving families that provide temporary homes to homeless animals until the perfect forever home can be found. We are always looking for new foster homes, so if you are interested please send an e-mail to info@luckydayanimalrescue.org. Please put foster in the subject line. |
