Though these sweet friends have passed from our lives, they will always be in our hearts.
Bert came to us so sick with his brother Ernie. He needed to have both of his eyes removed as they had both ruptured. We knew going into surgery that it was risky - but we had to at least try.
Sadly Bert passed away in the night- snuggled up to his best friend Ernie.
We will always remember you Bert.
Boogsey came to us after some evil person shot him in the eye/head with a pellet gun. His eye was destroyed, as well as most of his left sinus cavity. He suffered many complications due to the injuries he sustained. He had troubles breathing & was always fighting off a cold & had severe nasal discharge.
He lived here for 6 months until he was done fighting. It was so sad to lose him after such a short time, but I know he had more love in those short six months that he had his whole life prior. He knew he was SO loved & had a family!
Always in our hearts Boogsey ♥
Dobie was rescued from a high kill shelter in Manhattan after she was scheduled for euthanasia the next morning. She was a sweet senior Min Pin & brought so much joy & laughter into our lives! She lived out her final days with love & family. She came here in January & was with us for 65 days. Although her time with us was short, she made a huge impact & will always be in our hearts! She is now running free at the Rainbow Bridge with the others that have gone before her.
Oliver was a sweet older guy that came to us after his owner passed away and no one in the family could keep him. At that time he was the oldest cat we had taken in at 15 years old.
Everyone that met him was instantly smitten, he just has the most gentle, sweet demeanor. He was quickly adopted and things were great.
Sadly a couple of years after his owner was no longer able to care for him- so he was back with us. He was at our rescue center for a bit and we noticed he was slowing down.
We took him to the vet and there was nothing wrong - just old age catching up with him. At this point he was 18 years old. He was then adopted by Lucky Day's founder & quickly made himself at home.
He got along with everyone and slept curled up in bed every night. He loved all the perks of being a spoiled house cat and got along with the other resident cats and dogs. Life was great for sweet Oliver.
Sadly, without warning he died in his new owner's arms on Christmas Day. We think he knew he was home & so loved & felt he could finally let go.
He is missed terribly and will be forever remembered and loved.
Priscilla came to us as a very overweight senior cat. Sweet as can be and so loving. Shortly after she became very sick and was rushed to the vet. She was in liver failure and we continued to help her fight - but sadly our valiant efforts were not enough. Priscilla peacefully went to the Rainbow bridge surrounded by love.
She leaves behind many that loved and were touched by this sweet girl.
This sweet guy came to us at 17 years old & had been diabetic but it had gone undetected for quite sometime.
The poor guy put up with so much poking & prodding & was always patient & sweet - even when he didn't feel good.
We will always have a special place in our hearts for this sweetheart.
